A variety of small shops, Victorian buildings, picturesque cottages, bars, restaurants and hotels make Shanklin a place of character and charm. The cliffs that shelter the seafront esplanade and long sandy beach make for a perfect sun trap.  From the old village you can walk to the famous chine with it’s 45ft waterfall that cascades through boulders and ferns to the sea.

SHANKLIN BEACH

A short walk from the hotel via the lift or down the steps, Shanklin beach is famous for its sandy beaches and safe bathing areas.

The beach is patrolled by lifeguards and is mechanically cleaned daily during the summer season. Since 1996 Shanklin has not only been able to fly the Seaside Award Flag but has also been successful in displaying its Water Quality award.
